Our view on AI.

AI should support your professional judgment, not replace it. We use it for focused career help, with safeguards around your private information and transparency about how it is processed.

This page explains; it does not replace our Privacy Policy.

01 / Where we use it

Practical help, in four places.

OpenAI processes text coaching requests. Deepgram processes voice requests. These tools are part of Career+.

Plan details
01

Resume analysis

Reviews your resume against a target role and points out gaps and strengths.

02

Evidence-grounded rewriting

Suggests rewrites based on what your resume actually says.

03

Written interview practice

Gives feedback on typed answers to interview questions.

04

In-app voice practice

Lets you rehearse out loud with an AI agent. It is not a phone call and not a human coach.

02 / Guardrails

What protects your data.

  • Private resume access and uploads are checked on the server against the signed-in account and the applicable ownership permissions.
  • Long-lived AI provider API keys stay on the server, not in browser code.
  • To deliver a feature, the provider receives the relevant resume and job context, or your voice audio and transcripts.
  • Using AI does not make private community content public.

What this does not mean

Access controls do not mean that information never leaves our site. Relevant content is sent to the provider to deliver the feature. Do not assume it is automatically anonymized or redacted, or protected by end-to-end encryption. Private career documents are not published to community feeds.

How resume prompts are written

Our prompts treat uploaded text as data, not instructions. They prohibit inventing facts about you. If you give only a role, coaching is general guidance, not made-up requirements from a specific employer.

Where our data comes from

Generated advice is separate from sourced jobs and pay evidence.

AI can make mistakes

  • Review every edit before you use it.
  • Confirm qualifications, job details and pay with original sources.
  • Never submit fabricated credentials.

It is not clinical or patient-care advice, it does not guarantee hiring, and it does not make employment decisions on its own.

Leave these out

Keep the following out of resumes and prompts:

  • Patient or client identifiers
  • Medical records
  • Social Security numbers
  • Financial details
  • Employer-confidential information

These tools are for career information, not for handling protected health information. Remove sensitive details before uploading; do not rely on automatic redaction.

03 / How we build

AI helps build this site too.

We use AI-assisted development to build and improve scrubs.careers. We still enforce permissions on the server, validate inputs and check critical flows. AI-generated code is not a substitute for those safeguards, and responsibility for product decisions remains with us.

04 / Retention and deletion

Your information, beyond the request.

Results and history may be saved so you can use the features. Third-party processing is governed by each provider's terms and configuration. Retention and backups vary; there is no single verified retention period that applies to every provider. Do not assume that processing means zero storage or immediate deletion.

Deleting your account removes active account-linked app data, private uploads and sign-in access. Restricted audit records, legally required transaction records and provider copies may remain for reconciliation.
